The Galicia Sur Health Research Institute (IISGS), through its managing body, the Galicia Sur Biomedical Foundation, has received the award “HR Excellence in Research” on 13 July 2022.
This is an award granted by the European Commission that reflects the institution’s commitment to continuously improve its human resources policies in line with the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (Charter and Code, C&C), as well as to develop a transparent, open and merit-based recruitment policy (OTM-R).
IISGS began to work for achieving this award by 2020. A process was carried out to analyze the degree of compliance with each of the 40 principles set forth by the C&C and the OTM-R policy, with the aim of identifying those gaps and areas for improvement to be implemented in the coming years.
This information has been transferred to an action plan that includes actions aimed at improving the working conditions of researchers in the institution, to be implemented over the next five years, and than will increase the attractiveness of the institution for researchers by promoting more favorable conditions for the development of their research career.
The Galicia Sur Health Research Institute (IISGS) and the Biomedical Foundation are working for the obtention of the “HR Excellence in Research Award”, which grants public recognition to research institutions that have made progress in aligning their human resource policies with the principles defined in the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (Charter & Code).
